Designing Web Interfaces, Scott & Neil (O’Reilly Book)

I’ve started to read through the Designing Web Interfaces book and find it interesting and validating – a good touch point for reference when talking to or sharing patterns and uses with other people.

The main pattern “values”:

  • Make it direct
  • Keep it lightweight
  • Stay on the page
  • Provide invitations
  • Use transitions
  • React immediately

I found Scott’s slide deck which covers essentially the whole book, examples, and pattern practices for future reference.

The first one, “Make it direct”, feels the most valuable and most desirable in my practice and goals for interaction – we’ll see how well I can up my practice of it.

Tapping into the Wisdom of Use is great as a basis for a solid contextual use solution.
